| Qualifying Info and Exemptions |
Four (4) regional qualifiers will be held in state for as many as 60 spots in the tournament field. Individuals may attempt to qualify multiple times. Qualifiers will have their $100.00 entry fee credited toward the total entry into the 2006 California State Open Championship.
Qualifying Exemptions will be given to the following individuals:
The 10 most recent California State Open Champions All PGA Members The top-25 finishers from the 2005 California State Open, top-25 from the 2006 AG Spanos Tour and Golden State Tour money lists (as of the last day of August). 2006 US Junior Amateur Champion, 2006 California State Amateur Champion, and 2006 CIF Champion. All 2006 members of the Nationwide Tour, PGA TOUR, and Champions Tour. |

Field sizes will be cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes for the Championship Flight and cut to the low 40 and ties after 36 holes for the Seniors Division Flight.
Attire: Players must where proper golf attire, shorts are NOT allowed for the championship, however they are allowed for the qualifyings. Caddies and spectators will be allowed to wear bermuda-length golf shorts.
Rules of Golf: All competition is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and the local rules and tournament policies set forth by the California State Open Tournament Committee.
Automotive Transportation: Golf cars are allowed during qualifiers and practice rounds only. Maximum of 2 cars per group. Spectators are not allowed to ride during any phase of the competition. ALL PLAYERS MUST WALK DURING THE CHAMPIONSHIP, except when allowed by the Rules Committee.
Practice Rounds: Must be made by the player at the prevailing golf course rate. There is no guarantee that the practice round time desired will be available.
Behavior Unbecoming of a Professional or Amateur: Any player or individual associated with the player who displays rude or inappropriate behavior at any California State Open tournament site will be subject to disqualification from the competition. |
